Mark joined Refresh after renovating his own home and, now, providing clients with an enjoyable and hassle-free renovation experience is his speciality. Renovations can be a difficult process to work through. Mark is a great asset to have on your side when working through a renovation project and will help you to make informed and educated choices.
Previously to Refresh, Mark worked as a project manager in the utility industry and also as a design engineer. This experience set the platform to be able to understand, implement and manage large scale projects with confidence.
Every project has three key factors being quality, time and cost. These all need to be balanced carefully (and safely) to give an outcome that everyone is happy with. A professional and trustworthy approach is also critical to ensure that all stakeholders involved can combine to produce great results.
Before working in the utility industry Mark travelled through Europe in a campervan for six months. This experience gave not only the chance to see some of the worlds' oldest architecture and amazing buildings, but also to gain wonderful experiences spending time in different countries with different cultures. One of the highlights was living in the French Alps; the area is renowned as one of the worlds' most extreme places for mountain sports. Paraponting, snowboarding, rock climbing and skiing are all undertaken nearby to the high altitude alpine village at the base of the mountains, and living and breathing the lifestyle for a year was a fantastic experience. Before doing an OE and living in Europe, Mark spent five years living in the city of Melbourne in Australia. This time was spent working with a multinational asset management company and previous to that Mark did his time as a tradesman mastering the craft of plumbing and gasfitting. This initial trade knowledge is now invaluable when dealing with the trades that are inherently a major component of any renovation. He now uses his know-how to manage renovation projects, whether big or small, complicated or straightforward. He keeps a close eye on the construction schedule with each of the required tradespeople on the premise and makes sure that each of them finishes their part of the work in the agreed timeframe and to the expected high standard.
Mark has two children and likes to get out on the water for a kitesurf or to drop a fishing line off a boat whenever the chance arises.
