DecoGlide featuring intricately detailed laser-cut panels on a gliding track

Windows will never look the same again after the launch of a new Australian design innovation, the DecoGlide. Featuring intricately detailed laser-cut panels on a gliding track, DecoGlide replaces traditional blinds and curtains with delicate patterns and stylised imagery – delivering that all important visual ‘wow’ factor, as well as essential privacy and shade.
DecoGlide was created by architect, Meriam Salama, and Marianne Sourial, founders of Melbourne design consultancy, Twenty Six Letters. “Through my architectural work, I saw a gap in the market for a window product that was well designed, simple to install, easy to maintain but also added style and ambiance to a room,” says Meriam. “Why settle with functional window coverings when you can have a signature statement that is both beautiful and practical.”
Intricately detailed, the different screen designs filter sunlight to cast continually changing patterns across a room. Meriam describes the screens as “more like a piece of art than a blind”.
The DecoGlide provides sun and heat protection, as well as creating privacy by screening less-than-perfect views. Made of timber plywood, acrylic or polyester, DecoGlide comes in a wide range of colours, and is suitable for all styles of homes and workplaces.
Custom-made DecoGlide screen systems can be ordered online for door to door delivery and can be self-installed. Prices begin at AU$96 per square metre, plus shipping. For further information visit Twenty Six Letters website.
