Designed to enhance the rental opportunities of this property, this garage was converted into a one-bedroom self-contained unit. The 10 week renovation has resulted in an open-plan flat with its own kitchen, living area, laundry, bathroom and a double bedroom.

Silver Award 

Paul Cree for his “Farm shed conversion”
Originally used as a stable, this shed was converted into a multi-purpose space that can now be used for events and functions. Insulation, large sliding doors, pendant lights, corrugated steel cladding, timber ceiling panels and extensive paintwork have optimised the shed for its new function. 

Bronze Award 

Leigh McDonald for his “Granny flat conversion”
This garage conversion resulted in a comfortable modern space for a family member to call home. Sliding doors, drainage work, waterproofing, concreting, wall framing, electrical work and plumbing made a significant improvement to the habitability of the space. However, it is the timber flooring, storage solutions, paintwork and final touches that have ultimately made this garage feel like a home.
