Little Library Undergoes Major Transformation in Wellington

Contacted by an avid reader who had a spare bedroom in his Wellington home he wanted converted into a home library, Refresh Renovation Consultant Lia Boersma had just the person for the job - her designer, Tina Daisley.

Integral to the design was bespoke joinery that would house her client’s books in floor-to-ceiling shelves. These were complemented with opposing floating shelves for striking ornaments and comfortable seating for the homeowner to enjoy his range of reading material.

Tina began the project with thorough designs and costings and, once approved, project-managed the entire transformation. What was once a bland white bedroom with an overflowing bookshelf positioned against a wall is now a beautiful home library with a calming green colour scheme that provides a relaxing area for reading.

Bespoke joinery allows books to be on display while wallpaper under the alcove creates another focal point of the room. Soft lighting on top of the bookshelves creates an ambience on par with that of a gentleman's stately home.

Not only did Tina’s design skills shine in creating a quality, bespoke bookcase with intricate design details, but her superior interior design expertise also brought the entire room together, seamlessly tying the bookcase into the overall aesthetic.

Underpinning the entire project was Tina’s focus on quality, which was recognised by her very happy client.
