When plans were foiled to install a pool in the backyard of this Auckland Central property, Refresh Renovation Consultant, Maree De Latour, worked with the homeowners to come up with a viable alternative, and a successful one at that. After just ten weeks, the bungalow had a stunning addition to its backyard. A 32 sqm studio with a lovely outlook to the lawn and garden, which can double as a haven to work in, a retreat to stay in, or a rumpus room to play in for years to come.

The homeowners of this Auckland Central bungalow had exciting plans for their new purchase, which included installing a pool and creating an outdoor area. However, there are times when no matter how much wishful thinking is undertaken, some things just aren’t possible.
That was the case for these homeowners. Having called upon the expertise of local Renovation Consultant, Maree De Latour, it was during the concept and feasibility stage that rock was discovered which would need to be excavated. This put paid to the pool. A viable alternative proved to be the design and build of a beautiful, multi-purpose, garden studio.
