Gold Coast Renovation Builders
Enjoying around 300 days of sunshine each year, the Gold Coast is known for its laid back outdoor lifestyle and is a wonderful place to call home. The city is famous for the tower blocks of Surfers Paradise, but there’s also a good supply of 20th Century bungalows, mid-century houses and flats, and brick-built homes from the 1980s and ‘90s, as well as more contemporary architectural builds, that are now ripe for renovation. Popular projects on the Goldie, as it’s affectionately known, include creating indoor/outdoor flow and installing new decking. New kitchens, bathroom remodels and extensions are also in demand, as many local homeowners prefer to renovate a home in an area they love rather than move elsewhere.

How can I create indoor/outdoor flow?
Creating indoor/outdoor flow is essential for enjoying the Gold Coast lifestyle. Using similar colours and finishes indoors and out (for example on floors and decking); installing bi-fold doors; introducing shaded areas; and updating your outdoor furniture, lighting (including pool lights) and appliances can all help blend the boundaries between the indoor and outdoor areas of your home and enhance indoor/outdoor flow. Read more about creating indoor/flow.
How can I extend my living space?
Many of the Gold Coast homes built in the 1980s and ‘90s, from Palm Beach up to Paradise Point, are now ready for an update and open plan building renovations that remove unnecessary (i.e. non-supporting) walls to create an open plan kitchen/dining/living area are popular.
Alternatively, if you have an older Queenslander style of home, it may be possible to lift the property and build beneath it, which could improve views and ventilation as well as increase floor space.
Your local Refresh Renovations team includes experienced extension builders who will be happy to discuss these ideas, as well as other options, with you.
How much does a kitchen renovation cost?
Kitchen renovations typically include new cabinetry and benchtops, a sink, appliances, tiles (or other splashback), paint and flooring. Keeping the same kitchen layout is usually the most cost-effective option – as long as it gives you the functionality you need. We recommend a budget of at least $20-30,000 for a basic kitchen renovation, $30-50,000 for a mid-range renovation and $50,000+ for a high-end renovation, which could include bespoke carpentry projects.
Does it cost more to work with Refresh Renovations?
Working with Refresh Renovations won’t cost you any more than managing your renovation or building project yourself. In fact, it may even save you money. Refresh Renovations building specialists are able to negotiate the best prices with our preferred suppliers and manage all the trades needed for any renovation project, which increases efficiency and helps keep costs down.
