Alana Craig is the Renovation Consultant for Refresh Renovations Brighton but of all the challenges she meets along the way, none will be so testing as her impressive seven years spent as a Stay At Home Mum to her daughter Amelia. Parents will agree but when you learn more about Alana’s story, you’ll be in awe at her perseverance, resilience and continued communication – all of which are echoed through her focused efforts for Refresh Renovations Brighton customers.
Prior to having Amelia, Alana was a Regional Sales Manager for a marketing firm, managing 40+ sales reps covering the south coast all the way from Weymouth to Hastings. The skills learnt in this role set her up well for becoming a mum but finding out age 2 that Amelia had cerebral palsy transformed their lives overnight. Needing to raise a hefty £80,000 for her to qualify for surgery to enable her to walk and lift her out of pain, Alana set about rallying fundraising efforts and managed to complete a myriad of activities to earn the cash. Just a few years later, Amelia is able to walk, has joined her school’s netball team and remains a determined and inspirational figure amongst all those that know her – in no small part a feat thanks to her mother.
Alana’s lessons learnt along the way have left her working on staging things out systematically and always keeping the long term view in mind as she works toward goals. She’s also learnt how to effectively communicate technical and complex terms and ideas into simple and easy-to-understand concepts; able to keep everyone involved interested and informed at all times during a project.

Brighton Home Renovations

Renovation wise, Alana has taken on some works herself at home – decorating and converting a wet room into a bathroom for Amelia. Catching the renovation bug while helping a friend on their magazine-worthy kitchen extension, Alana was drawn toward Refresh Renovations after seeing the company’s approach and dedication to delivering a seamless service. Looking for a company to help with her own projects, she sought a firm who could take care of everything; saving her and her husband the time and effort they needed to spend with their daughter. Seeing first-hand what could happen with spiralling budgets and lengthening time scales, Refresh Renovations stood out from the crowd.
Outside of work, Alana continues to give back to her community and loves the city within which she lives, Brighton. Walking her pug-chihuahua (she calls him a pugawawa!) around Brighton, she loves to travel and isn’t averse to a glass of wine with family and friends. Deputy chair of the resident committee in her village, she spends a lot of time negotiating with interested parties and is unbeatable at managing people, managing expectations and motivating teams to reach ambitious goals.
