My name is Will Tangohau. I grew up in the sunny region of Mount Maunganui and attended the local High School until graduation. After leaving school around 2001, I started my career in construction and have worked in the building industry ever since.

In 2011, I moved to Auckland and started working as a leading hand landscaper. Shortly after that, I started a full-time career in carpentry. By 2013 I had leveraged my strong background and experience in building to shorten the usual period of training, obtaining my trade certification and building licence. 

I’ve been working in the construction industry for 18 years and have gained a wealth of experience in many types of residential and commercial projects, from new builds to renovations. I’ve also worked on large- and small-scale commercial sites including Auckland Airport, Auckland Zoo and a bunch of high schools and council assets around Auckland. 

After joining Jim Gleeson in May 2022 as a registered LBP Builder, I’m enjoying working on the various renovation projects that make up the work of our team. 

Being a member of the team has been rewarding and I especially enjoy mentoring and training the junior apprentices in our team. I’ve worked and studied in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and have practised martial arts over the years. I’m a husband and father of two kids and enjoy spending time getting out and about and seeing them grow and develop. 

My hobbies and interests are sports and outdoor pursuits such as hunting and fishing. I love to travel and enjoy social events with friends and family. 

My future goals are to have my own small business in residential buildings and to learn more about business and site management.
